Recent Works

My most recent collection is in the Art Gallery tab to your immediate right and can be found in the first three photos below! For this collection I wanted to highlight the ways in which art can be used as a tool of manipulation within anything, most specifically religion. I chose to incorporate ideas traditionally viewed as delicate, beautiful, and whimsical and turn them into creatures resembling the macabre, grotesque, and malformed. Being raised in the Church, I became fascinated with Christian iconography and the lightness in which they depicted grouseome, morbid scenes such as the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, the martyrdom of St. Eustace in the Bronze bull, or the worldwide flood in which Noah was the only survivor. My project is intended to incite questions, comments, and even concerns regarding the way we as people view art and how that can be morphed in order to adhere to certain beliefs and ideologies.
